Hydrochloric acid is produced in the stomach during the digestive process. When stomach acid levels are low, optimal amounts of hydrochloric acid are not produced. This may put you at risk for the development of conditions such as hypochlorhydria. Betaine HCL is used to supplement this hydrochloric acid production and restore normal levels of stomach acid.
